Canyoning:
Canyoning is a new adventure sport geared to the ultimate sports-enthusiast. Whilst Canyoning, you will journey though narrow passages of rock which have been contoured by ages of rushing water from the Himalayan snow melts and heavy monsoon rains. You will be traveling down canyons using a variety of techniques including walking, scrambling, climbing, cliff jumping, abseiling and swimming. It requires good navigational skills, rope work, swimming ability and a good level of fitness and upper body strength.
There are 4 canyoning sites in Nepal i.e. Bhote Koshi, Sun Koshi, Kakani and Marshyangdi.
- Bhote Koshi Canyoning :
Bhote Koshi Valley Canyoning is located 100km outside Kathmandu. This canyoning is an ideal trip for those who are keen to attempt in several spot in same time. Bhote Koshi is also famous for the World’s longest free fall Bungee Jumping and Rafting.
- Sun Koshi Canyoning :
The Sun Koshi River, The River of God is the biggest river in Nepal. The canyoning site is just 72 km est of Kathmandu in the Bolde Phediche Village Development area. The area is geographically diverse with an altitude of 600 m on the river bank and rises to around 2000m to the top of Dorjegyang Hill. This village is a 6 hrs hike away from Araniko Highway. This entire village is rich in Tamang culture and tradition. While trekking in this area you will walk along spectacular ridges area of indigenous Buddhist community whose religion is fusion of Buddist Lamasim, Shamanism and Bon culture. Yoou will encounter different ethnic people living in harmony and experience their socio-economic situation, life style and day to day activities. Besides Canyoning, Sun Koshi is famous for river Rafting.
- Kakani Canyoning :
Thrilling adventure of Canyoning is available in the doorstep of Kathamndu, the stunning sites located at Kakani (35 km.) from Kathmandu. There are two canyons Phung Phunye (185 m) and Chhahare (145 m) located in the villages of Dhansar and Jurethum in Kakani area. Those looking for a short escape from the busy hectic life in the capital city can now sneak to a beautiful traditional village of Kakani area.
- Marshyangdi Canyoning :
There are a number of canyoning sites opened for professional canyoning trips in this area including the highest canyoning site in the world in NaarPhu at 5200 m. This canyoyoning spot lies in Marsyangdi valley, gate way to Annapurna circuit trek. The canyons created by the mighty Marshyangdi River & its tributaries originate from two eight thousand meter mountain ranges, the Annapura & Manaslu. Canyoning is generally only available in the mountains, where steep valleys and rushing mountain streams lead to the formation of canyons. This region canyoneers can do both trek and canyoning in same time.

Rock Climbing:
Rock Climbing has recently gained a lot of popularity in Nepal. Thanks to the natural and majestic rock faces within the valley there are many natural climbing sites in Kathmandu. Beginners or a pro, the natural climbing sites are suitable for all.
Rock climbing is a physically and mentally demanding sport so, there are training sessions for those who require them. Being sufficiently prepared before undertaking any rock climbing tours is a must.
There are three rock climbing spots near the valley.
- Nagarjun Forest Reserve Site:
Home for over 318 species of birds, Nagarjuna Forest Reserve also famous as Rani Ban meaning “The Queen’s Forest”
is located 3 km northwest of Kathmandu Valley. It is just 30 mins drive from the most famous tourist spot Thamel. This is a perfect rock climbing site for beginners as well as experts.
- Hattiban Site:
Hattiban is the home to the religious Hindu Temple Dakshin Kali. The rock climbing site is located just 26km to the south of Kathmandu and is just an hour drive from Thamel. This site is suitable for skilled and expert climbers only. It is worth of all the physical challenge. It brings a sense of calmness and peacefulness to the climbers.
- Bimal Nagar Site:
Bimal Nagar rock climbing site is located 140 km from Kathmandu towards Pokhara i.e. 5 hrs from Kathmandu. But if you climb from Pokhara then it is just 60 km far. While climbing, you will be mesmerized by the beautiful view of Mount Manasulu and River Marshyangdi.

Wall Climbing:
The highest outdoor climbing wall in Nepal is in the heart of the city, Thamel Kathmandu. The Climbing Wall (50 feet high), offers a diverse range of graded climbing walls. The wall is complete for Speed Climbing, Lead Climbing Bouldering and Dyno, with over 20 different routes. Even beginners can experience the thrill of climbing. There are experts to guide you. Paragliding:
Nepal is without any doubt an adventurous Himalayan country, where you can find the adventures of any kind or any type as your need. Tandem flying involves a pilot flying with a passenger. Both have separate harnesses that are attached to each other and the wing. Paragliding harnesses are built for comfort and safety, they feel more like an armchair. Once launched the passenger just sits back, relaxes and takes in the epic scenery. Even taking pictures is not a problem. Due to the portable nature and easy launch characteristics of a paraglider (they fit into a rucksack) We can take them anywhere and fly them from most mountains in Nepal.

Zip Flyer:
Zip flyer is the one of attractive adventure activities in Nepal and has been attracting tourists with different opportunities of adventure sports, has ushered in yet another new product for adventure tourism. It is the worlds Longest, Steepest and the Fastest zip line which is 1860mtrs long. The Zip-flyer starts from the 1625mtrs in Sarangkot and ends at 960mtrs in Hemmja plain. At 5400 feet above sea level you will sit into a special harness seat and await your launch. Two guests launch at once, and it is a race to the bottom. Ultra- Light Flight:
Ultra light flight is an amazing activity in Nepal, which have been operated since 1996 and is claimed to be the first in South Asia.Ultralight Flight aircraft is another medium to observe the full spectrum of the magnificent Pokhara valley along with mountain peaks and lakes at the same time.
