Langtang Region
Langtang Region is located at the north of Kathmandu Valley under the protected region of Langtang National Park. The magnificent views of massive Langtang Lirung (7264m), Yala Peak, Lhanghisha Ri will capture your heart away. This trekking destination consists of overwhelming mountain passes such as Lauribinayak Pass(46100m) to explore the amazing blue turquoise water of glacier-fed Gosaikunda Lake. This Himalayan lake is surrounded by many beautiful mountains such as Mt. Makalu in the east to Annapurna in the west.
Langtang has a stronghold of diverse culture and lifestyle. Yak pasturing in the sprawling pastures in the highlands of Kyanjin Gompa is one of the main highlights of this area. Many people in this region are earning their living by yak farming. You can also taste the purely local and organic cheese at Kyanjin Gompa. The major attractions in Langtang Region are the glimpses of floating glaciers at Langtang Valley, Gosaikunda Helambu Trek, and Tamang Heritage Trail.
